TEHRAN – A huge copy of the Holy Quran, embossed on two large silver and gold plates, has been put on display at the 24th International Holy Quran Exhibition underway at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla.

The 180x135cm Holy Book named “Hablol Matin” (thick string) has been inscribed by Rain Akbarkhanzadeh, an embossing artist from Isfahan, Persian media have reported.

“610 silver pieces weighing 60,000 grams as well as 1,000 grams of gold have been used in this book,”  Akbarkhanzadeh said, adding that the back cover of the book also bears beautiful embossed patterns.

The project has been financed by the Chehreh Sazan-e Tala (Ajili), an institute active in producing gold and silver products.

Promoting the motto “Toward Understanding the Holy Quran”, the exhibit will be running until June 28.
